6-Days Malaysia Gunung Yong Yap

It is the 6th highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia. Situated in Korbu Forest Reserve, it is seen that Gunung Yong Yap is impossible to climb, because of its steep gradient near the top. In a topo map, it is seen that Gunung Yong Yap is impossible to access, because of its distance from the nearest civilisation.

With an opening of logging track from kampung Lasah to Kuala Mu, an expedition, which previously took 8 days to complete, is now compressed to 3-4 days. The trek used to be untouched all the way to the mountain peak, but now; there are many parts where the trek crosses a logging road.

Itinerary

Day 1 SIN – IPOH
2100 Meet and depart by VIP coach to Ipoh. O/N coach.

Day 2 IPOH – Camp I (LD)
0600 Arrive Ipoh & meet mt guide. Own breakfast in Ipoh
0730 Transfer by car to Kg Lasah, Kuala Mu, Orang Asli Village whereby if the season is right, you’ll be feasted with the seasoned fruits in abundant.
1200 Arrive village and make arrangements of porters. Lunch
1330 Trek to Camp I
1630 Arrive Camp I & prepare dinner. O/N in tent.

Day 3 Camp I – Summit (B, L, D)
0700 Enjoy the sunrise, break camp, clear rubbish
0800 Start trek to summit of Yong Yap
1600 Arrive summit. Camp and enjoy sunset and range of Titiwangsa viewing of Gunung Korbu Gunung Gayong & Yong Belar
O/N stay in the tent

Day 4 Summit – Village (B, L, D)
0700 Enjoy the sunrise, break camp, clear rubbish
0800 Start descend
1600 Arrive base. Swim at the base before returning to Kuala Mu. Enjoy Star gazing or explore for fireflies at the plantation. O/N in open shelter in the village.

Day 5 Village – Ipoh (B, L)
0730 Depart by 4WD to Kg Lasah. Enjoy the drive and guide’s Plantation before returning to Ipoh
Evening free to explore the night life. O/N stay in hotel.

Day 6 Ipoh – SIN
Return to Singapore by a coach in the morning.
You have an option to take a night coach back.
